Barts Medical Student Tutor

Master A-Level & GCSE Science with a Barts Medical Student.

Hi, I'm Ali — founder of HA Tutoring & a 3rd Year Medic at Barts & The London School of Medicine & Dentistry. I help students unlock their full academic potential through proven strategies, personalised mentoring, and an efficiency-first framework that aims to maximise the results you get from the work you put in.

Beyond A-Level and GCSE tuition, I also peer tutor advanced medical school content to other future doctors — teaching at the highest level of medical education. From teaching advanced clinical content at Barts to mentoring A-Level students through their exams, my focus is always the same: making the most challenging science concepts easy to understand and even easier to remember.

Whether you're aiming for top grades in OCR A Chemistry & Biology, AQA GCSE Science, or preparing your medical school application — I'm here to guide you every step of the way.

What People Say

Trusted by Future Doctors

Hear from some of those I've worked with.

"I've seen Ali go through complex medicine topics, and he explains things in a really clear, straightforward way. He's brilliant at breaking stuff down into bits that actually makes sense instead of making it feel like loads to memorise. He's also easy to ask questions to and doesn't make things feel intimidating. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a tutor."

"I would definitely recommend Ali to anyone also preparing for medical school interviews. I'm usually quite shy so I struggled quite a bit with the motivation-type questions and how to clearly explain why I wanted to study medicine, but he really helped me work through that and improve my answers. We went through a wide range of questions and his feedback was always honest and really useful, which made a big difference for me. I felt a lot more confident going into interviews and with his help I secured my top offer at St George's this year which I'm really grateful for."

"Ali is dedicated, passionate and willing to strive over and beyond. His tips, guidance and support over the years have been both unique and helpful, backed with experience and commitment. I now have two of my top offers from Barts & St George's and would definitely recommend him both as a tutor and someone to help with the med school application process."

"He explains concepts in a really clear and easy way that actually makes sense. Even difficult topics feel a lot less overwhelming after he goes through them. He's also patient, so it's easy to ask questions and properly understand things, which has made a big difference for me when learning."

FAQs

Everything you need to know before getting started.

My approach is designed to maximise efficiency when studying and help bridge the gap between content knowledge and exam technique, specifically targeting what examiners look for. However, every student's ability and learning style is different, something that I believe is imperative to appreciate to achieve success. But, provided you consistently follow my guidance and strive to improve lesson-after-lesson, week-after-week, over the long span you will have a much, much higher chance of success.
I expect to mentor students across their journey through to their final exams. This is not per hour tutoring where students can come and go as they please. This helps maintain consistency and ensure the highest chances of success until the very end — generally, students who have been the most successful will have had support with every step of the application process.
I work with a wide range of students. This programme can help push both high achieving students and those students who need more support. Despite this, I do not work with anyone and everyone, but rather those that are committed to succeeding.
I (Ali) am the only tutor currently. I am a 3rd Year Medical Student with A*s in A-Level Biology & Chemistry and a Grade 9 in both GCSE Biology and Chemistry. In addition to tutoring, I also teach fellow medical students at university level. There are no existing plans to employ further tutors — hence if you join, I will be the only one to teach you.
While I also specialise in Medical School entry (Personal statement & Interviews), my A-Level and GCSE tutoring is designed for any student aiming for top-tier grades.
